The Africa Soft Power Gala & Awards Night was more than an awards ceremony. It was the culminating experience of the Africa Soft Power Summit, a gathering that celebrates the people, ideas and organisations shaping the continent’s future.

With guests travelling from across Africa and the global diaspora, the evening needed to feel authentic, sophisticated and unmistakably African without relying on familiar clichés. Every detail had to reflect the ambition of the summit while creating a celebration worthy of the community it had brought together.

We approached the Gala as an experience rather than an event.
Working across experience design, spatial design and guest experience, we focused on creating an atmosphere that felt immersive from arrival to the final completion.

Every design decision, from the flow of the space to the rhythm of the evening, was made to support the energy of the programme and encourage meaningful interaction between guests.

Rather than simply producing an awards ceremony, we helped create an environment where culture, creativity and connection could naturally come together.

The Gala became one of the defining moments of the summit. For WOW!Connect, the project demonstrated our ability to design and deliver experiences that resonate across cultures while maintaining the attention to detail and guest experience expected of an international audience.

“It was a very beautiful evening and it felt like I was at home. There were very beautiful moments of connection with new friends.”
